Total weight loss: 101.7 lbs

Obviously a big post this time since I finally passed the 100 lb mark after dancing near it for a few weeks. After a month of not losing (but not gaining!) around the holidays, I was so excited to see a 8.4 lb loss in the four weeks following returning to work post-new years. And 2 weeks later I'm down another 3 lbs so the loss continues, even though I've not really been tracking too closely. That said, I've been following my routines with eating, continuing to run for 20+ minutes three times a week training for a 5K, and lifting weights with my boyfriend 2-3 times a week on top of that. My body is definitely reaping the benefits.

Check out my video for a body shot and hear me talk about my recent visit to the nutritionist and "goal weight". Later! Jo

  1. You look fantastic! Started C25K this week, and while I detest running, I'm hoping to tighten up those pesky inner thighs in the process. Love seeing your posts!

    1. Thanks! Best of luck with the 5K. Been cool to see how it's changed my body. My boyfriend can't get over how different my legs look. Now I need a 5K for my arms!!

  2. WOW! You look amazing:) I recently found your blog and am so glad I did!! I had my sleeve 1/23 and have found your blog so helpful. Thanks for sharing your journey. I agree this has to be a life style change and I am heading in the right direction.

  3. So glad to see another post! You look amazing and such an inspiration. I am considering Dr. Ortiz but I need to resolve all the what if's in my mind! I'm a single mom and there are probably way more pros than cons. I guess my biggest what if is what if something goes wrong when I get back home. Probably won't happen but always a possibility you need to be prepared for. If you have any words of wisdom or caution, I would be greatful! You can email me at guate_mama05 @ Thanks!

  4. Thanks Jo for all your effort in research and for sharing your journey. You have been such an inspiration for me. I can so relate to your struggles at various times with the addiction issue. I, like you, am trying to prepare myself for surgery. I am doing lots of reading and journaling and trying to get done to causes and conditions as to why I over eat etc. I really want to be successful at this and am trying hard to prepare myself for my journey ahead. I appreciate you sharing so much information as it will help me so much as it has already. I go in on march 18so I am doing the pre-op dote right now and am adjusting to it each day better and better. I am 51 and am hoping all goes well, a little nervous. Thx again for sharing! You are a very pretty lady; it's paid off in more ways than one I am sure. Congratulations on your engagement!!!!
